We are excited to announce the appointment of Steve Wagstaff as Head Coach of the Red Door Cafe Premiers for the 2026 season.

Steve brings world-class rugby expertise and a growth mindset to our Premier team. With a career spanning the UK’s top levels including Senior Championship, Premier Academy, Premier University, and semi-professional teams – Steve has shaped athletes at every stage, both male and female. His coaching journey includes coaching youth to senior levels, building elite academies, and mentoring future stars.

Steve’s rugby philosophy?

Career Highlights:

• Head Coach at Old Caterhamians Rugby Club (2019–2025): Led two senior men’s teams to back-to-back promotions in 2022 and 2023.
• Head of Women’s Rugby at Brunel University/Trailfinders (2021–2024): Founded the Women’s Elite Academy, driving two promotions in two seasons and building pathways to the premiership.
• Key roles with Harlequins, Ealing Trailfinders, Westcombe Park, Barking Rugby Club, and Hackney Rugby Club, specializing in talent identification, development, and support.

• RFU Level 3 Coach
• Referee Coach
• RFU Scrum Coach

Steve is renowned for his ability to build winning cultures, develop elite talent, and inspire teams to perform at their best. His analytical approach, passion for the game, and commitment to positive connections make him the perfect leader for our Premier squad.
