JUNIOR RUGBY

2024 Junior Rugby & Rippa

The Junior section of the club provides a positive and healthy environment for the children of the community. 

Children from the age of 5years have the opportunity to play at the club, starting with Rippa Rugby – a non-contact, easy to play game for both boys and girls, then moving in to Tackle Rugby or branching off to Girls Rippa or Boys Rippa.

​​​​​​​Rugby for the juniors incorporates the Small Blacks Development Model taking the kids through the different phases of learning rugby.

The Helensville Rugby club caters for both Rugby and Rippa Junior players (boys & girls) from the age of 5 through to when they finish at club rugby and start high school.  

We have a thriving player base and a passionate and committed community of parents supporting them.  



Junior Rugby & Rippa Key Details:

  • Once you have registered online, come to one of our weigh in dates (u9,u11,13 rippa grades don't need to weigh in).
  • Once all registrations are in and teams are formed you will be notified via email of your team, Coach and manager. 
  • Playing shorts and socks can be purchased online - go to main menu - select Paladin online store. (there will be limited stock on hand at the weigh in dates)
  • Mouthguards are supplied, these will be given out by your team manager at the first training night.
  • First training night is Wednesday 20th March 4-5pm - trainings run every Wednesday - 4-5pm (older grades training time may vary depending on team)
  • First game for Rugby is Sat 4th May.
  • First game for Rippa grades is the following Sat 11th May
